The Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) announced on Friday that it has concluded its investigations into Stellantis Europe S.p.A., Tesla Italy s.r.l., BYD Industria Italia s.r.l., and Volkswagen Group Italia S.p.A., which were initiated due to suspicions that the companies had misled customers about the performance of their electric vehicles.
The watchdog stated that the probes examined the „adequacy and transparency“ of the information presented to consumers concerning the vehicles’ driving range, battery degradation, and limits on standard battery warranties. It noted that automakers committed to reviewing and redesigning their websites to offer „clear and comprehensive“ information regarding the main features of their electric vehicles.
The four automakers also agreed to launch an EV range simulator, which will help consumers compare models within the same segment and estimate key factors affecting real-world driving range and battery degradation over time.

Der Wachhund gab an, dass die Sonden die „Angemessenheit und Transparenz“ der Informationen, die den Verbrauchern in Bezug auf die Reichweite der Fahrzeuge, die Batterieverschlechterung und die Begrenzung der Standard-Batteriegarantien präsentiert wurden, untersuchten. Es wurde darauf hingewiesen, dass sich die Autohersteller verpflichtet haben, ihre Websites zu überprüfen und neu zu gestalten, um „klare und umfassende“ Informationen über die Hauptmerkmale ihrer Elektrofahrzeuge anzubieten.
Die vier Autohersteller einigten sich auch auf die Einführung eines EV-Bereichssimulators, der den Verbrauchern helfen wird, Modelle innerhalb desselben Segments zu vergleichen und Schlüsselfaktoren abzuschätzen, die die reale Reichweite und den Batterieverfall im Laufe der Zeit beeinflussen.
